Lottie London Makeup Brushes

About a month or so ago, I blogged about my prizes from Lottie London, you can read that post here.
Today I am sharing my thoughts on their brushes. I received four brushes in total; Kabuki Babe Brush, All Eyes On You shadow brush, Flawless Base brush and the Powder Power brush.
The first thing I noticed about these brushes are the gorgeous pastel handles along with the same coloured tip of the bristles. Also I love the font Lottie London is printed in (just because I like to dot my 'i's' with a heart too).
The bristles are super soft and feel lovely on the skin. They have non slip handles and are also vegan friendly.

Kabuki Babe Brush - £9.49 | This brush has become my everyday brush for applying my powder. It's the right sort of size where you can get enough product on the bristles to then buff it into your skin. I find it leaves my skin looking super smooth and it blends it perfectly.

All Eyes On You Shadow Brush - £4.99 | I really like this brush for applying my eye shadow. Its quite dense but that makes it perfect to pack the colour onto the lids. It's also really good for applying powder to the under eye area.

Flawless Base Brush - £7.99 | Although I don't normally apply my foundation with these sort of brushes, I thought I would try it out. It kind of felt like I was painting my face with a paintbrush, ha! It did however, apply my foundation well and it all blended nicely together. I have also found that it's great at blending in under eye concealer.

Powder Power Brush - £7.99 | I tend to use this brush for loose powders as it's not as dense as the kabuki and gives you a light dusting of the powder. It's also a lovely brush to use when you want to dust your face with a bit of bronzer, to give you an all over glow. As it only picks up a little bit of the product each time, you won't end up looking muddy/orange!

Overall, I am super impressed with these brushes! They are amazing quality and affordable too! I really want to collect all the other brushes in their collection as I think they would look super cute sitting on my dressing table!
Lottie London brushes, along with their other products are available to purchase at Superdrug.

Have you tried the Lottie London makeup brushes?

Em's Tips | Overcoming Bloggers Block

Staring at the computer screen, waiting for an idea to pop into your head but you're left with that gormless blank look upon your face?! Yup, I'm pretty sure we have all been there at some point! Am I right? So today I wanted to share with you my tips for overcoming bloggers block!

Take a break.
It could be a short break during the day or a longer break. If it's a short break you could go for a walk, grab a cup of tea, have a stretch/do some yoga, so when you come back your mind feels refreshed and you may even have a new idea.
If you feel like your mind is not in blogging anymore, then take a longer break - a couple of days to maybe a couple of weeks. If you really want to continue blogging, you will come back soon enough with plenty of ideas to continue.

Look through old posts.
Have a look through your old posts and see what you have blogged about before. This may help refresh your memory and you may even see a 'series' that you could add to.
I have a few series that I am currently doing for example my 'Top 5.....products" I'm doing a mixture of drugstore, highend, skincare etc.

Find inspiration.
If you're having trouble with coming up with new ideas for posts, think about what apps/things you do to give you inspiration. I am obsessed with Instagram and often get ideas from here.
Also, I get inspiration from other bloggers and what they have posted about but remember, there's getting inspiration and then there is full blown copying, which is a big NO NO!

Make notes.
I always carry a notebook with me and I also have a bigger blogging notebook which I keep at home. The book I carry with me is perfect for when I am on the go and if an idea pops in my head, I can quickly write it down so I don't forget it.
Then when I get home, I transfer everything into my bigger notebook, so I have all my ideas in one place.
I also find the notes section on my phone comes in handy too!

If all else fails, here are some blog post ideas that you could use if you get bloggers block.

Wishlists - I post plenty of wishlists, always wishing!
Monthly favourites - It's nice to see what bloggers have been loving for the past month
What's in my makeup bag? - I love having a good nose through peoples makeup bags!
Everyday makeup look - Just like the going through the makeup bag, I then like to see what it looks like on!
Reviews - I always look at bloggers reviews before I go and buy a product nowadays
OOTD - I love seeing what people wear from a day-to-day basis!
Dupe Posts - Everyone loves a good dupe!

What are your tips for overcoming bloggers block?

New Arrivals From Yves Rocher | The Spring Eye Makeup Look*

A couple of weeks ago I posted about the Yves Rocher skincare range. This was the first time I had heard of the brand and I was really impressed with the products I received. (You can read that review here). So when an email landed in my box asking if I would like to try some of their new makeup range, I immediately said yes.
I was very kindly sent four of their products to try; an eyeshadow quad, eyeliner, eyeshadow primer and a mascara. The perfect products to create a smokey eye look.

First I started by applying the Fixing Eyelid Primer - £7.50* to both my eyelids. The texture felt really creamy and soft and was a yellowish colour. A little definitely goes a long way with this primer and as it has a slight stickiness feel to it, you know your eye shadows are going to last all day.

Next I used the Quad eyeshadow palette in Brilliant Green - £12.50*. Now I'm not normally one to wear green eyeshadows, but I think I made it work. I started by applying the lightest shade all over my lid. It's a lovely silver sort of shade with a bit of shimmer. Next I applied the shade next to it which is the lightest of the green on about 3/4 of my eyelid. I then used the second darkest green in the crease. Then the last shade, I dampen a thin brush and applied it under my lower lashes.

I didn't want to go to heavy with the Creamy Kohl Eyeliner - £4.90*, so I just applied it to the tightline, which I think made my eyes pop and didn't look to heavy. This was such a fun and interesting product to use! I've never tried an eyeliner like this before, but I enjoyed using it and think it will become a staple in my makeup bag.

Last but not least, I finished the look off with a couple of coats of the Volume Vertige mascara - £11.50*. This mascara was definitely my favourite product to use out of the whole look. The wand is plastic and has a sort of hourglass shape. It lengthen and separated my lashes really well and left me with long luscious lashes!

My Perfume Collection

Seeing as it's #NationalPerfumeDay today, I thought I would share with you my current perfume collection. I only have a total of 6 perfumes in my collection but I have my eye on so many more.
I love that perfumes can hold memories - whether it's a perfume you wore on holiday or for a special occasion.  As soon as you smell that perfume again, it instantly reminds you of what you were doing. There's plenty of scents I could talk about and tell you what memory I can relate to it but I think I will save that for another post.

I always tend to pick up perfumes when I'm at duty free. One because they are slightly cheaper than in store and secondly because I'm normally at the airport because I am going on holiday and I love nothing more than wearing that perfume I have bought on that holiday. So when I come to smell it again, it reminds me of the amazing trip I have had.

I love sweet scents. The typical girlie fruity/floral scents are definitely a winner with me! I tend to buy the parfum version (if it's available) of perfumes because although they may cost more to begin with, they actually last longer when they have been applied and have a stronger scent.

D&G 3 | I bought this perfume at duty free when I went to Turkey for the third time. It's such a lovely light perfume which is perfect to way in the day time. This perfume consists of watermelon, kiwi and pink cyclamen. A lovely fruity scent with a hint of floral thrown in for good measure.

Ralph Lauren Pony 2 | This my newest perfume to my collection. I bought it in the January sales as part of a gift set. The key ingredients are Cranberry & Tonka Mousse with a base note of vanilla and sandalwood, which I can definitely detect. I love perfumes that have vanilla and sandalwood as I think it gives perfumes a bit of a warm sugary-ness which I love.

Ghost | This was my first ever 'grown up' perfume when I was younger. I remember my mum and I going into our local Debenhams and spraying it onto one of those perfume cards. I instantly fell in love with the scent and my mum very kindly purchased it for me. Ghost is a sweet musky perfume with notes of vanilla, rose petals and Jasmine.

Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy | I love Juicy Couture perfumes and have nearly tried all of them in their collection. This one has to be my favourite though and I think it's my third bottle?
I think the reason I love this perfume is because it has all of my favourite notes - Honeysuckle, Caramel, Vanilla, Sandalwood and Jasmine.

V&R Flowerbomb | I bought this perfume when I saw everyone raving about it in the blogging world. I remember going into my local Debenhams (once again) and spraying it and instantly loving the scent. It was quite pricey but luckily they had an offer on and along with my Debenhams beauty card points, I got quite a bit of money knocked off it. Like the name suggests, it's definitely more on the floral side of scents with a hint of Bergamot and Patchouli.

V&R Bon Bon | After falling in love with Flowerbomb, my boyfriend very kindly bought me this perfume for my birthday last year. This is a fruity perfume but still has that grown up scent about it. It has notes of mandarin and orange slices, orange blossom all wrapped in a gorgeous caramel scent.

How many perfumes do you have in your collection? What's your favourite scent?

Along Came Betty | Heavenly Soak & Creamy Shower Wash*

If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you'll know I'm a sucker for bath products. So when I was recently contacted by the lovely PR company at Tescos asking if I would like to try the newly redesigned Along Came Betty products, I was definitely interested.

Along Came Betty is back with a whole new look and a whole new scent. The iconic retro range, inspired by 1950’s screen stars, has undergone a glam-over and now comes in two fruity fragrances, available exclusively at Tesco.

The fragrances available are Peachy Keen; a lovely lemony fruity scent and Very Berry; a soft berry, apple and vanilla scent, I was sent the So Much Bubble Heavenly Bath Soak and the Clean around the Clock Creamy Shower Wash, both in the Peachy Keen fragrance.

So Much Bubble Heavenly Bath Soak - £3.99 | Beautiful foaming bubble bath with moisture binding hydration. This is such a lovely bubble bath. I pour about a cap full under running water and my bath is instantly filed with soft fluffy bubbles. It also makes the water feel soft and creamy, which like the name suggests, just felt heavenly.

Clean around the Clock Creamy Shower Wash - £3.99 | Seductively scented, super creamy shower gel. This shower wash is very creamy, which I love. It lathers really well and makes my skin feel super soft. The scent lingers on my skin after I have towel dried which is lovely!

I would really like to get the body moisturiser in this range too as I think that will make my skin feel even more luxurious and will help keep the scent even longer.

Along Came Better products are available to buy in Tescos stores.

Have you tried Along Came Betty products before?

MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet Blushes + Lipglosses

MUA Cosmetics are on point at the moment with their current releases and very affordable products. I always find myself browsing their makeup stand in my local Superdrug to see what they have to offer.
They are definitely my go to drugstore brand when I am looking for something new to try as I know they will have something I'm looking for!
They have released a range of products called Luxe Whipped Velvet collection. These include blushes and lip glosses.
The blushes and lip glosses have the same selection of colours with the same names. I guess this is so you can co-ordinate your blush and lip colours? I'm not sure but I didn't pick up the same shades as when swatching them in store I wasn't too keen on some of them.
The shades include; Chi Chi - a gorgeous coral, Hedonic - a warm pink, Ritzy - a raspberry pink, Rococo -  a light baby pink and Spry - a light brownish shade.

I picked up two lip glosses - Rococo and Ritzy and two blushes - ChiChi and Hedonic.
Smooth & Soft – glide MUA Luxe’s Whipped Velvet Blush over cheeks for a light and instant colour. This ultra-soft blush lightweight formulation enables you to build the colour gradually for a look that suits you.

These blushes feel 'bouncy' to the touch but at the same time very soft. They are quite pigmented but do feel slightly chalky.
Chichi is slightly more orange than expected, so you only need a tiny bit but make sure you blend it well on the cheeks.
I really like Hedonic, it's such a lovely warm pink that would be suitable to wear all year round.

MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet Blushes - £3 each

Sweep this luxurious Whipped Velvet over your lips for an ultra-soft and subtle pop of colour. This super smooth new formulation won’t dry out your lips ensuring you have the perfect pout at all times.

I do find that you need to add a lip balm before you apply these as they are quite drying. But what I have found is that the best way to apply them is too apply a layer, then blot with a tissue and then reapply. This makes it say on longer and looks lovely on the lips.
My favourite out of the two is definitly Ritzy. I love the raspberry shade and it's very wearable.

Clothing Haul | Primark & H&M

I wanted a couple of tops I could wear when I wanted to be casual or if I'm just chilling out around the house. I picked up the 'I Woke Up Like This' tee which was £3 and 'My Favourite #OOTD' tee which was also £3 too. Perfect for chucking on with a pair of jeans and converse.
This cute little feather necklace was only a pound. Such a bargain and it looks lovely and dainty when it's worn.
You can't go to Primark without buying socks. I picked up these cute pug socks for £2.00 and these floral trainer socks for £2.50.
Primark's homeware section is on point at the moment and looking back, I wish I picked up more things. I only picked up one thing which is this LOVE sign for a pound. I love things like this and it will sit nicely in my bedroom.
I also picked up some exfoliating gloves for also a pound. I think these are actually one of the nicest pairs of exfoliating gloves I've tried. They aren't too rough but still feel like they are getting rid of the dry skin.

Next I got this lovely peachy lace style cutout top for £4. You do need to wear a little top underneath as it is see through but it looks really nice paired with the light denim jeans I bought.
I picked up two ribbed style crop tops for a bargain of £3 each. I really hope my local Primark sell other colours in these as I would love to have a black, grey and navy version of them.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on my blog before but I really struggle when it comes to buying jeans. I wouldn't say I'm an awkward shape, I have a bootay and hips but a tiny waist. So I get the leg size right but then it's too big around the waist or I can't get them past my bum! I thought I would try a pair of high waisted jeans on and saw these for only £10! They are a light denim and they have slits in the knees. These fit perfectly and feel super soft too. I think I may pick up a few more pairs in different colours.

I am a sucker for Primark bikinis. I picked these up as I needed a couple as I was going away for a long weekend and we had our own private hot tub. The brightly coloured bikini is a little bit different to what I'd normally buy. It is basically like a crop top with a gorgeous plait detail on the back. It was £6 for the top and £4 for the bottoms. The pineapple bikini is bandeau style, like I normally buy and was £4 for the top and £3 for the bottoms.

These next two items are from H&M. Now I don't normally buy from H&M purely because I can never find anything in there I like. But I decided to have a browse and find these two items. The striped top is £7.99 and the jeans were a bargain at £12.99. The top has three quarter length sleeves with a lovely scooped back and again the jeans are high waisted and are a light blue acid wash.

What have you been buying recently?

Nip + Fab De-Stress Blend Range*

Accessible, affordable + effective. Nip + Fab was created for a woman who wants it all.

Nip + Fab is a fabulous skincare and body care range founded by Maria Hatzistefanis (founder of Rodial). Designed to deliver targeted treatments for the face and body, our formulas are crammed with innovative and natural advanced skin smoothing, boosting and firming ingredients. Nip + Fab is premium skincare for everyday concerns at everyday prices.

Nip + Fab De-Stress Blend Body Lotion - £9.99* | "Moisturise and relax with this skin softening body lotion. A calming scent of sandalwood, orange blossom, cedar and frankincense helps to de-stress the body and mind whilst glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids help to refine and improve skin texture."
This is such a lovely light body lotion. It was easy to apply and soaked into the skin very quickly, leaving it feeling lovely and smooth.

Nip + Fab De-Stress Blend Body Wash - £8.99* | "Gently cleanse and unwind with naturally derived cleansers blended with soothing sandalwood, orange blossom, cedar and relaxing frankincense, to wash away impurities and freshen skin."
The body wash didn't lather up as much as I would of liked it too but nonetheless it was still a really nice product to use.

Nip + Fab De-Stress Blend Body Scrub - £9.99* | "Contains walnut shell powder, a natural exfoliant that gently buffs away dead skin cells to refine and smooth the skin. The polyethylene microscrub beads with their spherical shape allow the particles to gently roll across the skin, providing gentle scrubbing action."
This scrub had just the right amount of 'scrubiness'. It didn't feel too rough on the skin, but just enough to know that you were exfoliating all the dry skin away.

I really liked trying out these Nip + Fab products, The scent of them was really nice and had a lovely calming feeling, I guess that's why the range is called 'De-Stress' as it does help the body relax.
