Review | Canvas Design*

When I saw that Canvas Design was looking for bloggers to review their canvases, I jumped at the chance. I love how canvases can instantly add brightness to any room.
I was unsure of what picture to pick for my canvas but eventually I settled on this gorgeous beach scene from my holiday to Cuba last year.
They didn't state the size I would receive, so when I came home to some huge bits of cardboard I was shocked.
It was packaged very carefully using cardboard, bubble wrap and lots of tape. As I slowly unwrapped the bubble wrap and revealed the picture, I knew it was going to look amazing.
Being such a big picture (30" x 22"), I thought the picture quality would be distorted but I have to say the quality is really clear. Bearing in mind that the original photo was taken on my iPhone 4S!!
I've previously seen some canvases where the picture doesn't wrap around the edges, but with these designs they do. I like this as you're able to see a bit of the picture at any angle.
Another thing that impressed me is that it came with it's own fixings for the wall. With the help of my dad it was really easy to put up ;).
Overall I am really impressed with this canvas, and if you are planning on buying your own I would definitely recommend you check out Canvas Design.

Prices start from as little as £7.99 which is amazing and if you enter BLOG15 at the checkout, you will receive 15% off your order plus Canvas Design has FREE DELIVERY!

Bourjois | Healthy Balance Face Powder

"A unifying powder that evens out and boosts the radiance of your complexion whilst taking care of your skin.
With Asian fruit therapy formula to restore balance to the skin: the Sharon fruit smoothes and moisturises dry areas, whilst Yuzu fruit absorbs excess shine. Its ultra fine, blendable texture provides a light and undetectable finish on skin".

I needed a new powder as my beloved MAC MSF had seen better days. I knew I wasn't going to a MAC counter for a while, so I needed something to use before I did. As a big lover of the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, I decided to pick up the Bourjois Healthy Balance face powder. This powder comes in four shades and I picked the lightest, 52 Vanilla.
First I'm going to talk about the packaging. It's small, lightweight and it also has a decent sized mirror which is perfect for when you want to touch up on the go.
The powder itself is very finely milled and is soft to the touch. When applying , I swirled my brush into the product and there was quite a bit of fall out which means wastage. I gently swept the powder over my skin, concentrating on my T zone. I would say this powder is buildable, so if you fancy a slightly heavier coverage, you can achieve it with this powder. I do however find that it does cling to any dry patches you may have.
It claims to give you a healthy glow and a matte finish for 10 hours. I would say it gives my skin a nice glow but it definitely doesn't last for 10 hours, more like 3.

I do like this powder and will continue to use it but I don't think it has replaced my favourite MAC MSF.

The Bourjois Healthy Balance Face Powder costs £8.99 and it can be purchased here.

TAG | The Beauty Blogger

Evening ladies, I hope you're all well? I was recently tagged by the lovely Stephanie to do the Beauty Blogger Tag! I love a good tag as I think they are a great way to find out more about the blogger. So here are my answers, enjoy!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
It's naturally straight

2. What is your natural hair colour?
I'm a blondie

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I go to a salon and normally have a full head of highlights.

4. How often do you wash your hair?
Normally every 2/3 days. Dry shampoo is my best friend though for those in between days.

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?
With my job I have to have it tied back but when I'm not working I like to change it up.

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own

7. How often do you change your nail polish?
Whenever it starts to chip really, sometimes I'm naughty and just let it chip off altogether. That's when I'm being really lazy!

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?
I do! I know no one sees them but I don't feel 'finished' if they're not painted too.

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?
Again with my job, I wear minimal makeup so it only takes me like 10 minutes but on a regular basis it takes me around half an hour. For a night out it takes a lot longer ;).

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Most of the time face, unless I'm applying heavy eye makeup with the possibility of fall out.

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I use to buy it just when I needed it but since becoming a beauty blogger, I've kind of started to 'collect' it but I always use the items I buy, they never go to waste.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Not often. Sometimes I wear them on nights out but luckily I'm blessed with long natural eyelashes.

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?
Apart from when I'm at work, I wear a full face of makeup. If I'm just chilling at home, I wear none to let my skin breath.

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?
No I don't, unless I'm planning to go out later in the day.

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?
The only time I leave the house without makeup on is normally when I'm walking the dogs.

16. How many high end products do you have?
I honestly don't know! I want to say something like over 20?!

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
Every two weeks. I have a post here on how I wash them.

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
I normally decide when I'm getting dressed but if it's for an occasion I always have something planned.

19. How often do you change your handbag?
My everyday bag doesn't really change. I bought a new one the other day as my old one was getting a bit tattered looking. I had that one for over a year! If I'm going out on an evening, I would change my bag to something smaller.

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?
It depends what I'm doing really. I get up for work about 6:30am but on any other day around 8:30am (depending on if I'm lucky enough to have a lay in or not!) Again depending on what I'm doing, I tend to go to bed around 10pm but if I'm out it will be later.

21. How often & when do you workout?
Probably not enough as I should. For the past month I have been doing little workout challenges everyday and I have to say I have started to notice a difference in my body...YEY!

22. Left-handed or Right-handed?
Right-handed

23. How tall are you?
5.6

24. Do you speak a foreign language?
No but I would like to learn another language.

25. How many pets do you have?
A dog, a puppy, a tortoise, fish, chickens are ducks.

26. How often are you on Blogger?
I would say near enough everyday but some days longer than others.

27. Do you read the comments posted on blogs?
I do. Sometimes I have a question to ask the blogger about something they have posted about but they have already answered it to a previous blogger.

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I have a list on my iPhone and a written list.

29. How did you come up with your blog name?
Emily Grace is my first and middle name and 'egt' is my initials. I don't really like the 'x3', but hopefully one day I can get my own domain.

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
All I know is that it's a Canon...helpful I know!

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)
I live at home with my parents but clean my bedroom weekly.

32. What is your favourite colour?
I love pink and orange.

33. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?
I don't tend to buy magazines as I prefer reading blogs.

34. Do you swear?
Occasionally

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
As it's currently 21:00pm I will publish this post, check out a few blogs and then go to bed! :)

I TAG you all to do this tag as I really enjoyed answering these questions and I would love to read your answers! Feel free to leave you links to the tag below!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume | My Current Everyday Makeup | A Quote A Day| 800 Twitter Followers | Sleepy Dogs | Innocent Smoothies | Millie's Got That Sunday Feeling | Pug Socks | Millie's Selfie | VD Champagne | VD In Limo | VD Liam And I

Instagram - egtx3

I treated myself to a new perfume - Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb after Christmas. I have heard many reviews about this perfume and as I had a voucher to spend, I decided to pick it up. You can read my thoughts on it here.
At the beginning of the year I bought a book by Katie Piper called Start Your Day With Katie. It's a page a day book with powerful inspirational thoughts, plus quotes and mantras for each day of the year. I really enjoy reading this book every morning when I wake up as I feel it gives my day a positive start.
Look at this two cuties fast asleep after a long walk. Dodger jumped on top of Aragorn and decided to stay there and fall asleep.
I reached 800 followers on Twitter! I was excited to see the Twitter follower count turn over to my next milestone, people must enjoy tweets ;). You can find my Twitter account here.
I'm obsessed with drinking smoothies at the moment, especially Innocent smoothies. I'm on a bit of a health kick and find these keep me full and are full of goodness.
This picture was taken of Millie on Sunday. She has definitely had that Sunday feeling, not wanting to move from her cosy spot on the edge of the chair.
It was my boyfriends mums birthday at the end of January and she is a huge pug lover. So when I saw these pug socks in Primark, they reminded me of her pug, Ralph. I just had to pick them up for her and a pack for myself. I think this photo is one of my most liked on Instagram!

Millie is obsessed with phones, especially when she can see herself on the camera when you turn it round. So this picture is technically a Millie Selfie!
The last three pictures are from Valentines Day. I didn't know what Liam had planned for us, all I knew was that we were going out for a meal. I had a little incline that we were meeting up with our besties for a double date, as I had 'overheard' a phone call! In the evening we got a taxi to one of our favourite bars on the Quay Side. We had a few drinks and that's when our besties turned up, which was a lovely surprise! After our drinks, the boys suggested we walked to another bar but us girls being girls were complaining because it was very windy and raining! When walking outside my friend said "Cor someones lucky, they've got a limousine" and that's when the boys replied "Happy Valentines Day girls". We both were in shock and couldn't believe it. In we jumped and off we went cruising around our local town. It was amazing! Inside we had a rose each, a box of chocolates and a huge bottle of champers!
After plenty of photos had been taken, chocolates had been munched and the Champagne had been drunk, we stopped off outside Frankie & Bennys - one of my favourite places to eat! We had an amazing meal and I was buzzing throughout the whole evening. It was such a lovely Valentines and I'm such a lucky girl to have 3 amazing besties with one of them being my boyfriend! :)

Feel free to leave your Instagram names :)

Things I'm Currently Loving - #4

 1. Pastel clothing | I'm loving the pastel trend at the moment, whether it's a top, blazer or jumpsuit I have to have it! I have bought a fair few pastel items recently and I can see it being a big trend for S/S14

2. Printed trousers | I'm yet to purchase my first pair but I am really liking this trend. Again for Spring, I think these would look great with a plain floaty top. I would love a floral pair!

3. Smoothies | I'm currently on a bit of a health kick and there's nothing more I like than a good smoothie. I really like the Innocent smoothies but they can be a little pricey. I think I'm going to start making my own!

4. Popcorn | One of my fave snacks to have is a handful (or sometimes the whole bag) of popcorn. My fave has to be the sweet and salted mixed!

Rimmel | Kate Moss Matte Lipstick In 101

Today I am going to be sharing with you the lovely Kate Moss Matte lipstick in shade 101 from Rimmel.
Shade 101 is described as a 'soft Pink' almost verging on a baby Pink and is a matte lipstick. I'm always a bit wary with matte lipsticks as I find them quite drying but this one had a little bit of moisture to it, which felt comfortable on the lips.
It claims to be a velvet soft lipstick which is highly pigmented and applies smoothly, which I have to agree with. But as you can see from the lip swatch, it does settle into the fine lines of my lips. Before applying this lipstick I would recommend a thick moisturising lip balm, (my current fave is the coconut lip butter from The Body Shop) which will help make the application and finish a lot smoother.
The lipstick itself lasted for a good couple of hours on the lips, but with wear it did become dry.
The next time I wore this lipstick, I applied a lipgloss over the top, not only did it help to keep the lipstick on for longer but it also stopped it sinking into the fine lines.
I would recommend the Kate Moss lipsticks as they have an amazing colour range, a few different finishes and are very reasonably priced.

Rimmel's Kate Moss lipstick retails at £5.49 but currently on offer in Boots for £3.99.

Do you own any lipsticks from the Kate Moss range?

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I never jumped on the Bioderma bandwagon and I have to be honest, I never knew what 'Micellar Water' was before blogging. But after reading blog posts upon blog posts and watching Youtube videos, I found out Micellar Water is basically a clean solution that removes your makeup pretty quickly and easily. I'm quite happy with my current makeup remover (N07 Hot Cloth Cleanser) but after reading many reviews of various cleansing waters, I thought it was about time I tried one to see what the fuss was about.
When I saw the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in my local Boots, I thought this would be the one I would try.
What They Say - "A super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step – it’s not magic, it’s Garnier Micellar!
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water contains micelles which act like magnets, gently lifting away makeup and impurities from the skin, without the need to rub or rinse. The result?
Beautifully cleansed and refreshed feeling skin in an instant. The formula is suitable for the face, eye area and lips, has no perfume and comes in a generous 400ml size.
Apply the product to a cotton pad and wipe your face, eye area and lips. No rinsing required."
I really like the design of this bottle. As you can see, it is clear and the bottle itself is squeezable. I prefer clear bottles as you can see exactly how much of the product is left. Plus it has a pink cap, easily pleased I know. The bottle holds 400ml of product which Garnier estimates at around 200 uses, which to me seems pretty good. We shall see how long it lasts!
When applying this product, I squeeze a generous amount to a large cotton wool pad and sweep it gently over my face. I find it removes the majority of my face makeup but when it comes to removing my eye makeup, I use two separate pads for each eye. It even works on stubborn eye makeup and waterproof mascara.
My face feels clean and refreshed afterwards but I still use a face wash after to remove any remaining traces of makeup, as I feel this works best for me.
I'm going to continue to use my ever faithful N07 Hot Cloth Cleanser but will use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water when I'm feeling lazy or need to take my makeup off quickly.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water retails at £4.99 and can be purchased here.

Do you use a Micellar Cleansing Water/Solution?

Models Own | Hyper Gel Nail Varnishes

L-R - Lilac Sheen | Pink Veneer | Naked Glow | White Light | Cerise Shine | Coral Glaze | Turquoise Gloss

If you don't know already, I am a huge fan of Models Own nail varnishes. I have many in my collection and when I 'need' a new nail varnish, I will always head straight to the Models Own counter.
They recently released a new collection of new nail varnishes called Hyper Gel. I love shiny looking nails and thought these looked great. The colour selection is gorgeous, there's something for everyone. Ranging from pastels to brights, perfect for the Spring/Summer.
So when I heard that they were having a 50% off sale, making them £2.50 each, how could I say no! I knew I had to add these to my collection.

"HyperGel! 10 brand-new mega-shine shades that are highly pigmented, long-lasting and chip resistant. Enriched with lotus flower oil, the gel-like finish gives the professional shine of a salon manicure. The collection is completed with limited edition colour caps, topped off with colour-matched high-shine swatches on the lids that reflect the gel effect finish of the polish so you can select the perfect shades!"

There are ten shades in the collection and I purchased seven of them. I really wanted the Red shade - Red Lusture but sadly it was out of stock. As soon as it's in stock I think I'm going to purchase it along with the other two blue shades I didn't pick up - Blue Glint and Cornflower Gleam.
They come in their usual round bottles with Models Own on the side and the shade name on the bottom, but with the Hyper Gel polishes, they have a swatch of the colour on the lid. This not only helps to identify the shade quickly but also you can see what the finish is like before applying.
The nail varnish itself applies like a dream and I could easily have only applied one coat, but I thought two made them look extra glossy.
I'm currently wearing Cerise Shine on my nails and have had it on for 4 days and it has only just begun to chip which is really good considering I'm consistently washing my hands in my job.

I would really recommend you check out the Models Own Hyper Gels if you haven't already, and even the other shades in the Models Own range as I think they are an amazing brand!
Hyper Gel Nail Varnishes are online now and they are also available in UK Bottleshops. They will be available to buy in Boots from February 19th and Superdrug from March 12th, priced at £5 each.

Did you take advantage of the Models Own 50% off sale?

January Favourites

HD Brow Palette In Foxy | I'm currently trying to let my eyebrows grow as I would like to get them professionally done. While letting them grow, they look very untidy but with the help of this palette, it neatens them up and makes them look better. The bottom colour on the right of this palette is the perfect shade for my eyebrows.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation In Golden Ivory | I only bought this foundation last week but it has already become one of my favourites. It is a medium coverage foundation and doesn't leave my skin looking cakey. I can see why a lot of bloggers rave about it.

Urban Decay Naked Palette | I received this palette for Christmas and have used it near enough everyday. It has the perfect selection of neutral shades and the colours look lovely on the lids. I won't go into too much detail about this palette as I'm sure you have read many reviews.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara | I was browsing the mascaras in Boots and for some reason I was drawn to this one. Maybe it was the Black and Orange packaging, who knows? It has a bristle brush which I don't normally go for as I prefer the plastic brushes, but that aside this mascara is actually really good. It really lengthens my eyelashes and gives them a bit of oomph.

The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter | I love the smell of this lip balm. It just screams Summer! It keeps my lips feeling very smooth and moisturised. This lip butter is lovely as a primer right before I apply my lipstick.

Maybelline Baby Lips In Cherry Me | I keep this product in my handbag as its the perfect go to lip product when your lips need moisturising. I also like the fact that it is tinted as it leaves a lovely pinky red tint to the lips.

What are your favourites for the month of January?

Lush | Bubblegum Lip Scrub

What They Say | "A gentle exfoliator to prime and refine your lips and leave them tasting divine.
Let your lips do the talking with a fresh start: the sugar crystals and moisturising jojoba oil in Bubblegum are a sweet treat for the lips".
What I Say | This is one of those products that I have heard many reviews about but never picked it up. Last week, I decided I had passed by this product too many times and finally bought it. There were three flavours to choose from Bubblegum, Mint Julips and Popcorn. I picked up Bubblegum as this is the one that appealed to me most.
Firstly I have to comment on the smell, one word, wow! This smells just like sweet sticky candy floss and I love it.
The texture is like damp sugar, a weird description I know but I'm not too sure how to describe it. I guess the 'damp' part would be the jojoba oil which helps to moisturise them.
To apply it, I use a clean dry finger to scoop a little bit onto the lips and then gently start to scrub away, using small circular motions. When I feel my lips have been well and truly scrubbed, I take a warm flannel or cloth and gently sweep away the scrub. I then splash water over my lips to get rid of any left over sugary bits.
They do say you can lick your lips afterwards, but as tempting as that sounds, I personally wouldn't recommend it. Just because you're scrubbing your lips with it, getting rid of all the dry dead skin and then you're licking it off! So technically eating all that..dry..skin..eww!
When my lips are nice and dry, they feel incredibly smooth. I apply my favourite lip balm to give them their moisture back.
I use this maybe once, sometimes twice a week and have noticed an improvement in my lips. They are looking fuller, plumper and they seem to stay moisturised for longer.
Price | £5.50
Where To Buy | Lush
Rating | 8/10

Do you own a Lush lip scrub ?
