New Beauty Goodies Feat. Lush, Urban Decay, Taylor Swift Perfume & MAC

On Saturday, I took my friend shopping in Norwich for her birthday. She has never been shopping in Norwich, so I couldn't wait to show her the shops. Of course I couldn't go shopping without picking up a few items myself. I like shopping in different cities, as where I live we're kind of limited to the shops we can shop in. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular but I'm very happy with the items I picked up.
Two out of these four items were freebies, carry on reading to find out which ones!
Lush Rudolph Face Mask - £5.50 | Who doesn't love a freebie?! I took back 5 empty black pots and got to pick a free face mask. I decided to pick Rudolph as it's a limited edition face mask for Christmas. I really like the face masks from Lush and I'm excited to try it. I will do a separate review on this product to let you know how I get on.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray - £19.50 | This was featured on my current beauty wishlist. I finally took the plunge and bought it and so far I'm impressed. It's a lovely light weight mist that you spray on after you have finished applying your makeup. I will do a full review on this product when I have tried it a few more times.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Perfume 50ml - £16.99 | I was on the hunt for a cheap perfume I can use everyday and not worry about how much I'm using. I spotted this one on offer for only £16.99 (original price £29). This smells lovely and sweet and actually reminds me of the Fantasy perfume by Britney Spears.

MAC Plumful Lipstick - £15 | Another freebie. I returned 6 empty MAC items and received this gorgeous lipstick. This was the first time I had used the 'Back to MAC' system and it was such a smooth swap! The hardest bit was choosing a lipstick! I wanted to try a lipstick that was a little out of my comfort zone. The MUA tried a few shades on me and in the end I opted for Plumful. It's a gorgeous pinky plum colour and is a lusture finish (one of my fave finishes).

What beauty items have you picked up recently?

Hask Haircare*

A good month ago I was greeted by the postman, holding a big cardboard box addressed to me. There was a nice big stamp on it, stating it had come all the way from New York. I couldn't think of what it was but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it. It was a box of Hask haircare goodies*.
The package came wrapped in bubble wrap and brown paper. Inside was a bright pink shower container which I thought was a lovely way to present the goodies and inside that, was all the haircare products. I received two shampoos, two conditioners, two hair oils, two hair treatment masks and two hairbands.
I didn't know Hask had other products in their collection, all I knew about was the Hask Argan Oil which I purchased from Primark of all places. I loved the Argan Oil and was very intrigued to try the other products. They sent me two different types - Keratin Protein and Argan Oil. The shampoo's and conditioner's are new in the Hask range.

Keratin Protein

Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner | These shampoos and conditioners left my hair feeling amazing. Keratin is an amazing ingredient that helps restore, smooth and gives you gorgeous looking locks.
Smoothing Shine Oil | I use this shine oil when my hair is damp. I run it through the ends of my hair first and avoiding the scalp, I run the rest down my hair.
Smoothing Deep Conditioner | This product really helped smooth any unwanted fly-aways and smoothed down those icky split ends.

Argan Oil

Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner | Using these products together made my hair feel very soft and super shiny. I noticed that my hair was easier to manage and style when dry.
Healing Shine Hair Treatment | I have already gone through two of these as this is the product you can buy in Primark. Like the Smoothing Shine Oil, I apply this to my hair when wet and when my hair has dried, it's super shiny.
Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment | My hair was feeling dry and damaged, so this hair treatment arrived at the right time. I found this really did make a difference in the condition and appearance of my hair.

I also love the two little hair bands that they also sent. These are the type of hair bands that are kind on your hair and don't leave any unwanted dents when you take it down.
Overall, I really enjoyed testing out the products Hask sent me. I felt they all made a difference to my hair in their individual ways.

Have your tried any Hask haircare products before?

Real Techniques | Miracle Complexion Sponge

Makeup sponges have been popping up left, right and center recently in the blogging world with the Beauty Blender being the most popular. I'm yet to own a Beauty Blender, so when I heard that Real Techniques were releasing their own makeup sponge, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I am a big lover of RT brushes and in particular I currently use the buffing brush for my foundation but when Boots had their BOGOHP offer on makeup and accessories I thought this was the perfect time to pick it up.
What They Say - "Real Techniques by Sam Chapman introduces its new innovative Miracle Complexion Sponge. The Miracle Complexion Sponge will give you the pixel perfect, flawless base you have always dreamed of. The sponge is completely unique, featuring 3 distinct surfaces that give you 3 ways to apply liquid foundation.
Its versatile design evenly blends makeup for a smooth, enhanced finish, use with your favourite foundation to help reduce the appearance of pores"
The RT Miracle Complexion Sponge looks different from any other beauty blender I have seen before. The best way to describe it is it's an egg shape with a section chiseled out of it. This is so it can be used on all facial features and helps with the application of the foundation. The rounded sides help with the blending on the larger areas with a repeated "dabbing" or "stippling" motion. The precision tip is to help cover blemishes and imperfections and the flat edge is for the contours around the eyes and nose.

So how do I use it?
I pump the desired amount of foundation on my fingers and dot it all over my face. I heard that for a better application you dampen the sponge. I tried this a couple of times but I found it actually watered down my foundation a little bit and I really didn't like the finish. So I decided to keep the sponge dry and I definitely preferred it. As I apply the foundation to my face first, the sponge didn't soak it up and none was wasted as I had the desired amount all ready on my skin.
I tend to start on my forehead and work my way down. If there are any areas that may need extra coverage, I'll just apply a little more foundation. I also use this sponge to apply my concealer using the pointed end.
The sponge is lovely and squidgy, very soft and feels lovely on the skin.
I find myself picking this up a lot more than the RT buffing brush. My only gripe is that it stains very easily.

You can buy the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge from Boots for £5.99.

A Few New Things From Primark

Considering I only popped into Primark for a pair of work shoes (which I have just realised I haven't photographed) I came away with a few more items then planned.
I saw plenty of things I could of picked up but my bank balance wouldn't let me, roll on payday I say. Anyways here's what I bought.
Cardigan - £10 | I love thick woolly jumpers and this one is perfect for throwing on when you need that extra bit of warmth. It's a slouchy cardigan with buttons up the front and will layer well with anything.

Blue Skater Dress - £5 | This dress is gorgeous and was such a bargain! It was originally priced at £13 but it was marked down to only a five. I couldn't past it by.

Leggings - £6 | I'm currently trying to steer away from jeans and wear more tights and leggings. I really like these as they are thicker than normal leggings and can be worn as trousers where you don't have to worry about covering your bum., unlike normal leggings.

Necklace - £4 | I'm a sucker for statement necklaces and always find myself leaving Primark with at least one in my bag. This is a gorgeous statement piece and think it will look great for the festive season.

Midi Rings - £1.50 | I have liked the look of midi rings for a while now but I wasn't willing to pay £6 for just one (Topshop I'm looking at you!) So when I saw this set of three for only £1.50, I put them straight in my basket.

Urban Decay | Naked Flushed Palette

I bought this beaut of a palette off of a blog sale a good couple of months a go now and have only just got round to reviewing it. The original retail price is £20 but I think I picked it up for £8 (only swatched once) which is a bargain.
I've heard many reviews about Urban Decay products and I loved the look of this palette.
The packaging is really sleek and has a decent clasp so it won't spring open in your makeup bag. It has a lovely big mirror and is the perfect size for travelling. Oh and of course it's got 3 products in one!
What They Say - "Urban Decay launches Naked Flushed, the hot little threesome every woman needs in her makeup bag. We packed our favourite beauty essentials - bronzer, highlighter and blush - into one convenient compact. Light-diffusing particles enhance and perfect to give your skin a fresh, glowy look (even when your late-night antics have you feeling otherwise). Use these SILKY pressed powders individually or blend them together to create just the right effect - and let this seemingly straight-laced trio morph into a tangled colour love fest. Then bask in the radiant glow and let people wonder what you've been up to".
The Naked Flushed Palette has three different sections. A matte bronzer, highlighter and a blush.
The matte bronzer is a nice medium brown, it's not overly pigmented which I find for a bronzer is a sometimes a good thing because you can gradually build the colour up to however you prefer.
The swatch below is showing up orange, but when on the face it's a lovely warm colour, which is perfect for anyone with a fair skin tone.
The highlighter is probably my favourite part of this trio. It has a pink undertone, giving such a beautiful glow to your skin. I like applying the highlighter to the top of my cheekbones and on my brow bone.
The blush is a nice deep pink, leaning on the berry side. It is very pigmented and a little goes a long way. Blending is definitely key with this blush.
(Apologies for the swatches on the hand, my skin has broke out and wouldn't look nice on camera)

I personally feel that this palette will truly suit anyone. From dark skin tones to fair skin tones, you can work with the intensity of each shade to give you your preferred look. I also think this palette is very versatile and can be used both in the Summer and Winter months.

You can buy the Naked Flushed palette here.

Beauty Wishlist

1. MAC Palette & Insert - £14 & £6.50 | 2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - £19.50 | 3. NARS Laguna - £26 | 4. Origins GinZing - £23

1. I have wanted a MAC palette for a while now and with the new sleek design I want one even more. I already have two MAC eye shadows in pan form to get me started.

2. I'm always on the hunt for a product that can help make my makeup last longer and I have found this one by Urban Decay. Apparently it's a "microfine mist that goes on so light, you'll hardly feel it" and it's also meant to keep your makeup looking vibrant all day.

3. Everyone raves about the NARS Laguna bronzer, so I think it's about time I see what all the fuss is about.

4. I recently bought some skincare items from Origins and I'm really impressed with them. This is another product I have heard raves about and would love to try it out.

Review | Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask

(Ahh scary!)
What They Say | "When environmental pollutants, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature's complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental pollutants, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief.""
What I Say | I'm always on the hunt for a decent face mask. A face mask that feels like it's getting deep down into my skin and getting rid of any nastiness. Well, I think I've found it. The Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask from Origins is dark grey in colour and is soft to the touch. When applied on the skin it glides on but as soon as it dries, it tightens. It isn't uncomfortable but it feels tight enough to know it's doing something. I leave it on my face for around 5-10 minutes, depending on the condition of my skin.

After the time has passed, I rinse it off using a damp warm flannel/muslin cloth, in circular motions and I'm left with lovely smooth skin. My pores are noticeably smaller and the blackheads around my nose are definitely disappearing. I use this mask once a week, again depending my skin. My skin doesn't get oily but I do find that any oiliness I may have has gone but then I need to moisturise after using.
With packaging, I much prefer face masks when they are packaged in a tube. They are easier to control exactly how much you use and they are definitely less messy. This mask is packaged inside an easy to use squeezable tube which you can see exactly how much of the product is left.
If you're looking for a weekly face mask to help control oil and/or blemishes then I definitely recommend this one.
Price | £10 50ml - £22 100ml
Where To Buy | Origins
Rating | 10/10

September Favourites

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette | I love this palette heaps already but for the month of September I have particularly been loving the shade Faint to fill in my eyebrows. I never use to fill in my eyebrows but decided to have a go as I am currently trying to let them grow. Filling my brows in instantly made them look neater and really added some shape to them!

Seventeen Skin WOW Highlighter | This is a new product from Seventeen and I picked it up when boots had their BOGOHP offer on. It claims it can be used in three different ways, but I use it to highlight the top of my cheekbones. It's a lovely product and I will be doing a separate review on it soon.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze | After hearing so many rave reviews about this product I decided to purchase it at the beginning of the month. I'm so glad I did as I have used it everyday since. It is such a lovely product to apply quickly if you just want a sweep of colour but it is also great for creating a brown smokey eye look.

Volume Million Lashes Excess Noir | I'm a big lover of trying new mascaras and this is the newest one in my collection. I'm lucky enough to have dark long lashes but this mascara seems to make them look even better. It separates my lashes and adds lots of volume which lasts throughout the day.

Collection Eye Shadow Pencil in Vanilla Sky | This is another product I picked up in the Boots offer. This is the perfect product to apply to the inner corner of your eye. It instantly brightens your eye and it claims to be waterproof and I definitely have to agree, this product won't budge!

Real Techniques Brow Brush | This is one of those brushes that sat in my brush holder for a while and I wasn't really sure what I was going to use it for as I never use to fill in my eyebrows, but that has changed. Like I said above, I'm trying to grow out my eyebrows, so I decided to have a go and fill in those 'brows of mine. I have to say I really liked how it turned out and my brows looked so much better. This brush really helped to get the correct shape I was after and it didn't apply the product to heavily.

Now looking back at all my favourites, they are all eye related apart from the highlighter. I have loved experimenting with different eye looks and playing with all my eye makeup.

What are you favourites for the month of September?

Origins Skin Care Goodies | Primark Cutout Boots | Morning Millie | Percy Pigs | New Makeup | Selfie | It's Friday! | Millie Wants My Frosties | 90's Tag | Halloween Costume | Selfie Red Lips | RT Complexion Sponge

Instagram - egtx3

Since I got back from my holiday, I have noticed my skin has gone a bit crazy and also with the colder months creeping upon us it's starting to freak out, so I thought it was about time I gave my skin some loving. I opted for some Origins products and so glad I did as I am already loving them. See what I picked up here.
I bought some new boots from Primark. These gorgeous cutout boots were only £20 and bang on trend. I can't wait to wear them.
Morning from Millie! Millie is my boyfriends kitten. I don't think I have shown her before on my blog, so this is her debut. She likes to sneak into the bedroom in the mornings and just purrs and walks all over you to wake you up.
The only reason I go to Marks and Spencers is to buy Percy Pigs. I love these sweets so much.
I recently bought some new makeup goodies from Boots with the BOGOHP offer they are having. I picked up some bits from Seventeens new range and a new eye shadow pencil from Collection. Keep your eyes peeled for a review of this products soon.
Everyone has to have a selfie...or two on their Instagram, right? I really liked how my bun turned out and of course thought I would take a picture of it ;).

After the rubbish week I was having, I was so happy it was Friday and what better way to celebrate than a picture of Minions partying!
Millie was after my morning cereal - a bowl of Frosties, what the lovely boyfriend brought to me in bed.
I've recently posted a blog post called the 90's tag. I loved reminiscing about my childhood and searching for pictures to go with the post. It brought back so many memories and of things I had forgotten. If you were born/or grew up in the 90s, you can find the post here.
My boyfriends mum is having a Halloween party, so I have spent my week searching eBay for a Halloween costume. I decided on a zombie nurse and thought this costume looked good. It comes with all the accessories, so all I need to find are the eye contacts :). I'm gonna back comb my hair and spray it grey and do the zombie makeup.
I recently bought a red lipstick, Rimmels Kate Moss lipstick in shade 01 to be exact. Now I always stick to pinky/ nude lips, so I'm stepping out of my comfort zone here. I really wanted a nice red lip that I could wear in the evenings and possibly during the day. I asked on Instagram if this suited me and you lovely lot all said yes, so I guess it's a keeper :).
I've finally picked up the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I have wanted a beauty blender/makeup sponge for a while now and was happy to see this in my local Boots. I haven't tried it yet but will let you know how I get on.

Feel free to leave your Instagram names :)
