Tag | The 90's Child

Born in 1990...

1. Favourite Disney Movie | Where do I start? I'm crazy about Disney films and always will be but it has to be Aladdin. I really wanted my own pet tiger called Rajah.

2. Favourite Music Artist | I was a huuuge Spice Girls fan! I still have their Cd's and photo cards. Baby Spice was my favourite and I remember dressing up as her for a fancy dress party. I also loved Britney Spears, Blue, Steps, Destiny's Child and S Club 7.

3. Favourite TV Show | I loved The Care Bears, Rugrats, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Art Attack, Zzzap!, Get Your Own Back, Arthur and The Simpsons.

4. Favourite Sweets | Push Pops, Pick 'N' Mix from Woolworths, Double Dips, Opal Fruits(Starbursts), Chewits, Refreshers, Pez, Bubble Tape, Dweebs and Nerds.
5. Favourite Game/Board Game | During the breaks at school, I enjoyed playing kiss chase ;), skipping rope games, bouncy balls and red rover. But you would probably find me in the playground making up dance routines to the latest single out. My favourite board games were Guess Who, Frustration, Monopoly and Dream Phone - Ahhhh loved that game!

6. Favourite McDonald's Toy | I loved collecting the Beanie Baby toys. I also liked the Snoopy toys, Animal Pals and any Disney themed toys.

7. Favourite book | I was obsessed with Jacqueline Wilson books. The first one I owned was called The Suitcase Kid. I also enjoyed reading Allan Ahlberg books, Usborne books where you had to find the little yellow duck and Animal Ark books.

8. Favourite Clothes Shop | The only one I can remember was Tammy Girl. I loved going in there on a Saturday and using the photo booth machine that printed your pictures onto stickers. I remember my planner and pencil case was covered in them.
9. Favourite Toys | I had a little collection of Sky Dancers, Polly pockets, a Furby, Betty Spaghetties, Barbies and my favourite Pocahontas Doll which had leaves on her dress and they only appeared when put in the sun.

10. Fashion | Collar chokers, skirts over trousers/shorts (which have now come back into fashion, skorts I'm looking at you) blow up backpacks, wedge boots like the Spice Girls, jelly shoes, crimped hair, snap bracelets, butterfly clips, stick on earrings and mood rings.

11. Favourite Collectibles | Spice Girls photo cards - I only needed one to have the complete collection. Beanie Babies - I was a big fan of Beanie Babies and I still have them in the loft along with my Barbies. Stickers - I was obsessed with stickers. I use to have numerous sticker books filled with stickers of anything and everything. They were also plastered all over my room and books.

12. Favourite Beanie Baby | I had so many I liked from butterflies to cats and giraffes to unicorns. I still have one of my favourites called Floppity the Rabbit. It was one of the bigger Beanie Babies. I also had a collection of the special holiday bears from the Beanie Baby collection.
13. How many Tamagotchis did you go through? | I honestly don't know, I don't think it was that many, maybe a handful? They always seemed to die or the screen use to fill up with their poo?!

14. Favourite Game System and Game | I enjoyed playing on the PlayStation, especially Spyro the Dragon and Tomb Raider II. I always use to lock the Butler in the freezer! Did anyone else use to do that?

I hope you enjoyed this tag as much as I enjoyed writing it. I loved reminiscing about my younger days! I could of easily wrote a lot more for each answer but thought I would be here all day if I did. :)

If you were born in the 90's, what do you remember about your younger years?

Review | Origins Super Spot Remover

What They Say | "Red PMS blemish? Bad joke breakout? Heal, fight and fade it fast. Just dab on a dot and feel blemish-busting Salicylic Acid instantly help speed healing while anti-spot technology helps visibly correct post blemish darkening. Skin-calming Caffeine and Red Algae help visibly relieve irritating redness. And to help keep skin looking spotless, super exfoliators eliminate excess oils and pore-clogging debris."
What I Say | This is one of those products that has been raved about a lot in the blogging community and a product that has been on my wishlist for ages.
I finally took the plunge and bought it. I'm really glad I did because ever since I go back off holiday my skin has gone crazy and this has done wonders.
The Super Spot Remover is a blemish treatment gel which is a clear gel with a strong alcohol scent. It contains salicylic acid to help speed up the healing process, caffeine to calm the skin and red algae to get rid of irritation and redness. I dab some onto any spot I may have and gently rub it in, normally before I go to bed because it's quite drying. When I wake up, the spot has noticeably reduced in size and the redness has gone down.
The only downside to this product is the price, I personally think £14 for a small bottle is rather a lot but if you only get the odd spot/breakout it should last you ages.
I would definitely recommend this product if you are prone to breakouts or looking for a quick fix spot treatment.
Price | £14 10ml
Where To Buy | Origins
Rating | 9/10

Origins Skincare Haul

I am a big lover of all things beauty and makeup but I have to be honest, I don't really pay that much attention to my skincare routine. I use a moisturiser, face wash and the occasional spot treatment/face mask when needed. But since I got back from my holiday, I have noticed my skin has gone a bit crazy and also with the colder months creeping upon us it's starting to freak out, so I thought it was about time I gave my skin some loving.
I have heard many rave reviews about Origins and the products that they sell that I thought I would start there.
I ordered the Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask and the ever so famous Super Spot Remover. I also received 3 deluxe samples for free, I'm loving Origins already!
Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask - £8 50ml  | When environmental pollutants, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature's complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental pollutants, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief."
Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash - £18 | When it comes to faces with dry and oily places, it takes a clever cleanser to balance the two. This gentle, frothy face wash carefully does both jobs without cancelling each other out. It helps to seek out oil, soaks it up then keeps it well in-check, while it balances and protects dry prone zones. And Broadleaf Kelp breaks down dirt, disperses excess oil and sends dullness down the drain. Skin feels comfortably refreshed after cleansing, never tight, pulled or parched.
Modern Friction - £33 | Sand-blasting skin with coarse, chemical crystals? How painfully passe. Here's age-smoothing exfoliation without irritation.
Skin-refining Rice Starch cushioned in cream, rapidly removes sluggish cells, uneven patches and signs of skin damage and discolourations. Lemon Oil kick starts the process of illumination. Vitamin C mops up skin-menacing free radicals.
There's no ouch, extra steps or other complications. No redness or flaking follows. Signs of lines and size of pores appear to shrink. Skin looks perfectly polished, smooth and luminous.
Super Spot Remover - £14 | Red PMS blemish? Bad joke breakout? Heal, fight and fade it fast. Just dab on a dot and feel blemish-busting Salicylic Acid instantly help speed healing while anti-spot technology helps visibly correct post blemish darkening. Skin-calming Caffeine and Red Algae help visibly relieve irritating redness. And to help keep skin looking spotless, super exfoliators eliminate excess oils and pore-clogging debris.

I will be going into more detail about these products and reviewing them individually in up and coming posts, so keep your eyes peeled for them :) I am very impressed!

Review | Choies Stripe Short Jacket*

I was recently contacted by the lovely people from and I was allowed to choose an item of clothing from their website.
I haven't heard about Choies before, so decided to do a little research before committing
What the website says -" is a global website destination for fashion-forward and IN girls to shop clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. Our mission is to bring heart to commerce and become the better origin of fashion inspiration. Our goal is to inspire and be inspired by cool girls all over the world."
They are based in Hong Kong but offer free worldwide shipping with no minimum purchase required which is always a good thing.
The website was easy to navigate around and even though the prices are in dollars, you can view the website in pounds if you just click the union jack flag.
So what did I pick? I decided on this gorgeous navy striped jacket*. I was after something I could just throw on to instantly create an outfit and this jacket does just that! The jacket is described as a short jacket, which means it is slightly cropped but I feel it's still a decent jacket length. The sleeves are a tad too long but I just roll the cuffs up and I like how it looks.
It is made out of a lovely soft material and the stripe details are slightly raised. The shoulders are also padded which gives the jacket a lovely shape.
This jacket has become a staple piece in my wardrobe and I find myself reaching for it quite a bit. I also got a lovely comment from a sales assistant when I was shopping the other day, saying how much she liked the jacket which is always a lovely thing to hear.

The jacket costs $56.99 (£35.46) and you can find it here

Things I'm Currently Loving - #3

 1. Autumn | It's safe to say that Autumn has arrived, the mornings are crisper and the evenings are darker. Even though I love the sunshine, I have to admit I quite like the Autumn months. I love wearing thick woolly jumpers, fluffy socks and getting all cosy on the sofa with a hot water bottle and DVD.

2. Hot chocolate | Hot Chocolate is my favourite drink when it's cold outside. Topped with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles you can't beat it. I can't wait for Starbucks to release their Christmas drinks, mmm Gingerbread lattes!

3. Woolly Knits | I love wearing woolly jumpers! Not only are they super warm and cosy, you can wear them with anything. I particularly like wearing Oatmeal coloured jumpers with dark skinny jeans and UGG boots.

4. Candles | I love the smell of a candle burning, especially anything that smells of cinnamon, berries or vanilla. There's something quite relaxing about turning the lights off and just sitting there in candlelight. Bliss.

Juicy Couture Noir Perfume

Every time I visit Duty Free, I always buy a perfume. Purely because when I spray the perfume when I'm at home it instantly reminds me of the holiday I'd been on. I love Juicy Couture perfumes and the Viva La Juicy Noir is the newest perfume in their collection.
I think this cost me £43 for 100ml but retails for around £60 for 100ml on the high street.
I am a big fan of Juicy Couture perfumes with Viva La Juicy being my all time favourite. When I heard that they were releasing 'Viva La Juicy Noir', I knew I had to try it.
With all Juicy Couture perfumes, the packaging is gorgeous. Its a deep pink bottle with the Juicy Couture logo engraved. It also has a big black material bow around the neck of the bottle.
The scent is very similar to Viva La Juicy but smells 'warmer' if that makes any sense? I think it could be the sandalwood? (I'm rubbish at describing scents).
All in all I really like this perfume and think it would be perfect for all the Juicy Couture perfume lovers out there.

Review | The Sweet Club Sweet Box*

For all you sweetie lovers out there, I have the perfect post for you today that'll leave you drooling ;)
I am a big lover of sweeties, especially the pick 'n' mix kind. I use to spend most of my weekends, when I was younger, in Woolworths (hands up if you remember Woolies?) buying pick n mix sweeties. At first it was a bag you had to put the sweets in and you had to be extra careful with how many you picked, as it was priced by weight, but then it changed to a tub where you got to fill it up with however much you wanted and only paid a set price. This was the best idea ever! Then Woolworths went into liquidation and I was lost. Where would I get my sweetie fix? I occasionally get pick 'n' mix sweeties from WHSmiths and my local Traditional style sweet shop but when I heard about The Sweet Club sending out a box of 8 packs of sweets, chosen by yourself I knew this was something I was going to enjoy.
So how does it work?
1. Browse hundreds of sweets and choose 8 packs you like (You can change your selections every order).
2. Sign Up /Log In and let us know whether you would like a delivery Monthly or Fortnightly.
3. Place Order. We carefully pick and pack your chosen selection.
4. Update your next order, or leave it to us and we'll surprise you with a custom selected Sweet Box.
It is as simple as that! The hard bit is choosing which sweets to put into your box.
The Sweet Club have a huge variety of sweets to choose from. They have something for everyone. Whether you like hard boiled sweets or sweets that get stuck around your teeth, I'm pretty sure you'll find something you'll like.
Here is just a few sweets to give you an idea - Pear Drops, Sherbet Lemons, Dolly Mixtures, Fudge, Hardgums, BonBons and Jelly Beans to name a few.
Not only do they have the traditional British sweeties, they also have a selection of American candies - Hersheys, Tootsie Roll, Reeses and more :).
I was lucky enough to choose my own sweeties to go into the Sweet Box*. I was spoilt for choice as there were so many yummy looking sweets to choose from! Oh, and I didn't eat these all in one go or all to myself, just in case you were wondering. I had plenty of helpers! ;)
So, what did I pick?
(Apologies for the over used words of 'yummy', tasty' and 'so nice')

White Chocolate Coated Toffee Honeycomb | I was a little bit disappointed with this pack as I expected the honeycomb to be nice and crunchy but it was just a sticky gooey mess inside. I don't know if this pack had just gone stale or it was a dodgy batch? I did however have two nice pieces in the pack but typically they were the pieces my family picked out, so I didn't actually get to try it but they said it tasted good.

Strawberry Cable Bites | In high school, I always bought one long one of these for only 20p and always ate it in class (naughty naughty). These were very tasty.
Almond Nougat | I shared this pack with the family and they all loved it. Their views were it had just the right amount of sweetness and wasn't too sickly. Their favourite Nougat!
Peanut Butter M&M's | This was the packet I was most excited to try. I have never tried these before, as they are from America. Just recently, I have started to really like Peanut Butter and these went down a treat. So yummy!
ABC Letters | Not only are these sweets tasty but they are fun too. I like to spell my name out or spell words out of them before I munch into them! :)
Spogs | When I was younger I wasn't a huge fan of liquorice apart from these little bobbly balls?! Ha. I remember my Nan (who was a big lover of liquorice) eating Catherine Wheels and giving me the middle bit, which are called Spogs. (I never knew that until I received this box). Very nice!
Fizzy Bubblegum Bottles | These have to be my favourite sweets of all time. Even though some people relate to them as eating soap, I love them! You'll always find these in my pick 'n' mix tub.
White Chocolate Gems | These are a sweet that take me back to my younger days when I use to buy pick 'n' mix. They were the last sweets I use to put in my tub to fill any gaps as they were nice and small, so technically you were getting more sweets. Again, I will always have these in my pick 'n' mix selection.

My teeth are now aching from all that sugary goodness. At only £7.95 a box and free P+P to the UK, I think this is a fab idea for all you sweetaholics but it is also a great idea as a gift for someone. It comes well presented and would make a perfect present.

Are you a sweetie lover? Is this something you will try? I would love to know if you purchase this box for either yourself or as a gift :)

Review | Maybelline Baby Lips

I know you're all probably groaning 'not another Baby Lips post' but I thought I would share with you my opinion on them. I bought all 6 Baby Lips when Boots had their 3 for 2 deal. They are £2.99 each but I got all 6 for £11.96.
There was a lot of hype surrounding these lip balms and I know a lot of the British beauty bloggers couldn't wait to get their hands on them. I wasn't too sure about them at first but as soon as they were released over here I had to try one (or all six it seems).
L-R - Pink Punch | Peach Kiss | Cherry Me | Intense Care | Hydrate | Mint Fresh
I really like the packaging of these lip balms. I am a big sucker from brightly coloured items and they fit the bill perfectly. They have clear plastic lids and a screw bottom to reveal the product.
They have an artificial scent but I kinda like it.
The first three shades are a tinted balm. The other three contain SPF, apply clear and glossy and are like 'repairing' lip balms.
The lip balms apply very smoothly and glide easily along the lips. Maybelline claim that Baby Lips offer 8 hours of hydration but I would have to disagree. I would say it's closer to an hour, if that.
L-R - Pink Punch | Peach Kiss | Cherry Me
The three above shades apply a wash of colour to your lips. I'm slightly disappointed that the colours aren't more intense, like the colour in the bullet but hey ho, for £2.99 I'm not really going to complain.
These are perfect to put in your handbag when you need a fix for dry lips but they are not a fix for cracked lips. They are a fun little product but I don't think I will be repurchasing any of them.

Do you own any of the Maybelline Baby Lips?

My Current Top 5 Beauty Buys For Under £5

I recently guest posted on the lovely Laura's blog about my 'Top 5 beauty buys for under £5' and decided that I would also share it with you on here!
Batiste Dry Shampoo - £4.99 | This is my favourite dry shampoo ever. I go through one of these cans at least every month. I use it when I don't have time to wash my hair or when my hair is looking a bit limp and lifeless. It instantly gives it a boost and adds lots of volume and texture. My favourite scent is Tropical, it just screams Summer!
Palmers Cocoa Butter - £3.77 | I have used this body moisturiser for as long as I can remember. There is always a bottle of this somewhere in my room. It has a gorgeous scent and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft.
St Ives Face Scrub - £4.29 | Again, this is another product I have used for ages. I find this scrub perfect for my skin as it's not too abrasive but effective enough to get rid of any dry skin or blemishes I may have.
Boots Coconut & Almond Leave In Conditioner - £1.99 | This leave in conditioner is just a cheap and cheerful product I use on wet hair. It gives my hair an extra boost of conditioner and leaves my hair smelling lovely.
Nivea Lip Butter In Caramel Cream - £2.25 | This lip butter is one of my newest products in my collection. It smells gorgeous and leaves my lips feeling super soft. I do have to resist licking my lips though as it does smell edible! ;)

What are your beauty buys for under £5?

I'm Back! :)

Just a quick post to let you all know I'm back from an amazing 2 weeks in Cuba. I had such a wonderful holiday and I've definitely got the holiday blues.
It was lovely to come back and read your comments you had left and to know you had been visiting my blog even though I didn't have any scheduled posts for two weeks!
I think I'm going to write a separate post on my holiday, so keep your eyes peeled for that if your interested.
I'm also hoping to get straight back into blogging as I have some exciting blog ideas and posts.
