Inspiration | Statement Jewellery

I am loving statement jewellery at the moment. I think there's nothing wrong with adding a bit of bling to any outfit. I really like the last picture and currently on a hunt for a gold watch!

So...? Brit Perfume*

What They Say - "So...? Brit is an edgy scent that has been created for the fashion forward and independent girls in mind. Notes of English rose, amber and vanilla are perfect to showcase your independent attitude with this statement scent!"
What I Say - I am sure many of you have heard of So...? perfumes before! I have to say they remind me of my teenage years. I wouldn't be able to tell you how many cans I got through of So...? Kiss Me! I had one in my bag, one in my locker and one in my P.E bag. Anyone would think I smelt haha!
I was kindly contacted by the people at So...? and they sent me So...? Brit* to try. So...? Brit is full of Peony, Rose, Amber, Cranberry, powdery Iris and Vanilla scents. I can definitely smell the Rose and Vanilla. It is a sweet but sort of spicy scent. Perfect for those Summer evenings! :)

Wilkinsons, Asda, Superdrug, Boots, Tesco, Asda, Beautycare

Topshop Cream Blush In Morning Dew

What They Say - "Lightweight cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish"
What I Say - This is my first item from the Topshop make range and it's also my first cream blush.
Morning Dew looks like a vibrant pink in the pan but looks less bright when applied to the cheeks. The texture changes from cream to powder when applied which I really like. I use a RT blush brush but you have to have a light hand when applying as it's very pigmented. You may end up looking like clown, eek. I also sometimes use my fingers which helps give your cheeks a subtle glow. It blends lovely but if you do apply too much, I would suggest using a powder brush or the brush you used for foundation and just blend out the edges. That's what I find works best for me.
I have found that it lasts on the cheeks all day and leaves your skin with a slight dewy finish.
The only thing I would have to say is that the product in the pan gets dirty quite quickly. As I use a brush, all the little fibres get stuck, but nothing a quick wipe can't fix.
I really want to try the other shades in the blush range as I really do like cream blushes and think they lovely for the summer!
Price - £6
Where To Buy - Topshop
Rating - 8/10

Ted Baker | Tolee Treasured Orchid Print Flip Flops

If you have seen my Birmingham shopping goodies post, you would of seen these gorgeous Ted baker flip flops.
Ever since I received my gorgeous Ted Baker purse from my boyfriend for Christmas, I have been obsessed with the brand. These are the Tolee Treasured Orchid Print Flip Flops and retail at £35. I bought these from the Ted Baker store and got a lovely big bag to carry them in. ;)
I have never visited a Ted Baker store before and I have to say I was amazed at how many gorgeous pieces of clothing they had but sadly, the majority of it was wayyy out of my price range.
I was casually having a browse at the gorgeous dresses and noticed a section of cute boxes hanging up. I went over to have a look and was met by these gorgeous flip flops. I walked up to them thinking that they will cost me an arm and a leg but was pleasantly surprised.
At this point, a sales assistant asked if I would like any help and I told her that I was interested in the shoes and she told me all I needed to know about them, which was nice. She was very helpful and I felt very relaxed in such a popular and expensive shop. (I don't know about you, but when I'm in a shop that's out of my price range, I feel the sales assistants are always looking down their noses at me? Anyone else feel the same?)
Anyways, I tried on the flip flops and fell in love with them. They are a gorgeous pale pink with an oriental design on the sole. They also have a big bow on the front with the 'TB' engraved on a gold square.
The box they came in also says 'scented' on it. The flip flops do have a 'scent' to them but I'm not sure if that's just the rubbery smell?
I'm yet to wear these (where's the sun!) but I think these will look amazing and will go with any outfit. Fingers crossed they won't rub my feet too much.
Ted Baker sell a wide range of flip flops and pumps. I think I may purchase a pair of pumps next.

Tolee Treasured Orchid Print flip flops cost £35 and you can buy them here.

Urban Decay | Naked Basics Palette

"Urban Decay's first MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals to build on or wear alone - including four never-before-seen shades."
This ever so popular palette has been on my wishlist for ages and I finally have my hands on it, thanks to a lovely girl on twitter. I asked if anyone was selling any of Urban Decay NAKED palettes and the lovely Kat from talesofapaleface got back to me, telling me she had the Basics palette for sale. I instantly said yes and here it is! My first NAKED palette! :).
First lets talk about the looks of the palette. It it smaller than the other NAKED palettes but of course this is because it only has half the shades. It's so small in fact, it fits in the palm of my hand.
I like the fact that it's small as it means its the perfect size for carrying around or traveling and it doesn't take up too much space in my makeup bag.
The palette itself is made out of a slight rubbery material which I can image will get mucky quite quickly as it's not really the material which can be wiped clean.
When you open it up you are greeted with a lovely big mirror, which I love and the 6 gorgeous matte shades.
Venus is described as a soft, off-white, Foxy is described as a cream bisque, Walk of Shame is described as a very light nude, Naked 2 is described as a taupe, Faint is described as a warm, dusty brown and Crave is described as a deepest, darkest brown/black.
These are the loveliest of shades and create such a gorgeous neutral smokey eye. Easy to wear day to day but will also look great for a night out!
For me I feel this is the perfect palette to have in your kit if you are a beginner, like I am or just a big lover of neutral shades.

Urban Decay Basics Palette costs £20 and you can view it here.

Do you own this palette or a NAKED palette?

Things I'm Currently Loving - #1

 1. Makeup Storage | I'm loving reading posts and looking at pictures of how other people store their makeup. I'm currently looking for inspiration on how to store my own. They are currently sitting in a pretty set of drawers from WHSmiths but they are just too small now. My collection is spilling over!

 2. Real Technique Brushes | Ever since I received the Core Collection and Eye starter sets for Christmas, I have been obsessed with Real Technique brushes. They are super soft and make applying my makeup so easy. I currently own 10 I think but want all of them! :)

 3. Nail Art | Glitter nail art in particular. I find myself browsing weheartit for hours looking at nail art. My nails have become a decent length and I can actually create designs on them. I love the above glitter gradient effect and hopefully will create it one day.

4. Statement necklaces | I think statement necklaces always look amazing. They instantly add a bit of glamour and style to any outfit.

Tag | Would You Rather - Beauty Edition

image from weheartit

I really like reading tag posts as I think you find out more about the blogger in a fun and interesting way. I have recently done the '50 Things About Me' tag, which you can read here. I was on the hunt for another tag to do and came across the 'Would You Rather - Beauty Edition' tag over on Kayleigh's blog. So here goes...

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

I wouldn't like to loose either of these but I would have to say I would rather loose all my palettes and eye shadows. This is only because I don't own that many eye shadows/palettes and would hate the thought of loosing my mascaras and my MAC lippies!

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Considering I want really long hair, I would have to say never cut it again. I know that if I never cut it again, it would be in some serious damaged condition and just image all those split ends, eek!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I think I would have to go with a coral cheek. Even though I own pink and coral blushes, I tend to wear coral more as it suits my skin tone better.

If you had £1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

For me this is quite an easy question. I would spend it all on clothes. As much as I love makeup, I couldn't justify spending £1000 and blowing it all on makeup, in one go ;). I currently need some new clothes, so if this £1000 would like to appear in my bank account anytime soon, I would be truly grateful! :)

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Not liking the sound of either of these but if I had to choose one I would have to say, I would use eyeliner as a lipstick. I have a nude eyeliner and could image it looking okay-ish on the lips (if it had to) but I couldn't image using a bright pink lipstick on my waterline? The idea of putting a chunky lipstick on my waterline makes me cringe.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Seeing as we don't have a Sephora here in the UK, I would have to say MAC, but if a Sephora decided to appear, then I would say Sephora! I have never visited one but they have so many different brands inside, you wouldn't get bored.
Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?

Again, seeing as I don't wear that much eye shadow, I would say only use one eye shadow colour (as long as that colour was a nudish shade and not a bright colour). I have a lovely range of lip products and couldn't image not using them!

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Living in England, we never really get a 'summer', so I would say I would wear winter clothes in the Summer (which we kind of end up doing anyways). The thought of wearing summer clothes in our winter would be horrible. Image walking around in the snow wearing a bikini and flip flops (brrr!).

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?

This is an easy one for me. I would (and do) wear bright nails all year round. Sometimes when I apply dark nail varnishes my nails look really drab and boring. The majority of my nail varnish collection consists of brights, pastels and vibrant shades.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Okay... I don't like this question. I couldn't image living without my fave Benefit mascara or my MAC lippies! But I guess if I had to choose one I would say I would give up my favourite lip product. Just because  I feel my face would look plain if I didn't wear any mascara, but I could get away with not wearing a lip product!

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?

My hair always seems to be in a pony tail for work and only occasionally in a messy bun. So I would say I would rather wear it in a pony tail :)

Would you rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

I would never use lip gloss again. As much as I love my lip products, I wouldn't really miss lip gloss. At the end of the day I would always have my lipsticks and balms but wouldn't like to see my nails not painted.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?

What sort of question is this? Oh dear...!  I think I would have to sharpie them in every day and try to make it work. At least you can experiment with different shapes? Okay maybe that doesn't sound as good as I thought. Just image some bright pink thick straight eyebrows, haha!

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

This is an easy question. I would rather live without nail polish, hands down. I wear makeup most days and love experimenting with it.

I really enjoyed filling out this tag and would love to know if we have similar answers? If you would love to do this tag, or you already have, please leave a link below as I would love to check it out :).

The Body Shop | Tea Tree Skincare Kit

The Body Shop is not a shop I visit that often and I'm not really sure why. But back in April I decided to pop in and see what they had to offer. My skin has been a bit naughty recently with a few odd breakouts here and there, so I decided to take a look at their Tea Tree range. Now I'm sure most of you know that tea tree is very good for clearing up your skin and getting rid of those pesky spots. One thing that can be off putting is of course, the smell. It is very strong but that doesn't bother me.
The Skin Clearing Facial Wash and Skin Clearing Toner caught my eyes straight away and I was going to pick them up for £5 each, but noticed they had this cute little set for only £10. This way I got to try the two products I was after plus the Skin Clearing Lotion and the Tea Tree Oil.
I apply these in order as seen here every morning and evening but I only use the oil when I have a blemish!

Skin Clearing Facial Wash | I wet my face and squeeze some onto my fingers. I then massage it in and it slightly forms a foam. When finished I gently pat my skin dry and it leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and fresh. When using this be very careful not to get this in your eyes as it will sting. (Yes, speaking from experience here!)

Skin Clearing Toner | This toner has mattifying powders in the bottom which you have to shake to activate! I apply a few drops onto a cotton wool ball and sweep over my face and neck. This gets rid of any left over dirt or makeup that the facial wash might of missed.

Skin Clearing Lotion | I squeeze about a pea size onto my fingers and gently massage into my skin. It quickly absorbs into the skin but can leave your skin feeling a bit tight ,so I apply my normal moisturiser over the top.

Tea Tree Oil | This is perfect for when you have that pesky spot suddenly appear. I carefully dab some of this oil, with clean fingers, directly onto the spot and within a day, the swelling and redness has gone down.

I have to say that I am very impressed with these items and can see them being staple products in my skincare routine. I also enjoyed trying these out in the smaller versions first as it gave me the opportunity to give them a good going before making decisions on them and buying the full sized bottles.

Have you used the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop before?

My MAC Lipstick Collection + Swatches

I have to admit, I am a sucker for MAC lipsticks. They have such an amazing variety of colours and finishes, they last a long time on the lips and in the bullet and they also smell nice! The only thing that can be off putting is the price! At £14 each they are slighty on the expensive side. (I think my first MAC lipstick was only £10! Sighh....)
MAC seems to be the only brand I buy lipsticks from, I have a few from other brands but most of my lipstick collection consists of MAC.

So what shades do I have?
Pretty Please (lusture), Politely Pink (lusture), Angel (frost), Creme Cup (cremesheen), Plink! (lusture), Hue (glaze), Viva Glam Gaga (lusture), Raspberry Swirl (cremesheen).

My first lipstick I bought was Pretty Please. It's such a lovely wearable shade and would suit most skin tones. My favourite one out of my current collection would have to be Angel. Angel is a gorgeous rosy pink and I love wearing it on nights out. It's a very popular shade in the blogging world as it's apparently Kim Kardashian's favourite lipstick. Also my favourite finish would either be Lustures - moisturising and natural looking or Cremesheens - creamy with a glossy finish.
After swatching these lipsticks  you might think they all look very similar, well I guess you would be right. I tend to stick to pinky/nude lipsticks as I feel that they suit my skin tone the best. If I'm daring enough to wear a brighter or darker shade, I would buy it in a cheaper version first just in case I don't like it.

So that's my current MAC lipstick collection and there's no doubt that it will continue to grow. I also have 6 empties to take back-to-MAC and I can't decide which shade to buy. Do I go for a more daring shade or stick to what I know suits me?

MAC Lipsticks cost £14 and you can view them here.

What's your favourite MAC lipstick?

Review | Firmoo Sunglasses

I was recently and very kindly contacted by the lovely people at Firmoo*. Firmoo is an online website which  has a huge selection of affordable prescription and non prescription glasses and sunglasses for both men and women, which they can ship all over the world. A feature I like on the site is that you can try the glasses on 'virtually'. All you need to do is upload a picture of yourself to the website and then click on the glasses of choice and you can see what they will look like on.
The delivery for these glasses was very fast and the products came well packaged, including a hard case for each pair of sunglasses, cleaning cloths in each and a soft case.
So what did I pick? I was allowed to choose 2 pairs of either glasses or sunglasses, but seeing as I don't wear glasses I decided to pick two pairs of sunglasses.
Firstly I picked this gorgeous black pair with a little bit of gold detailing on the arm. I love sunglasses that have a little extra detailing but somethings that's not over the top. These fit the bill perfectly. These sunglasses have a wrap around design which is meant to protect your eyes better and they are also meant to be more flattering. They have an oval shaped lends which is also slightly tinted purple. The quality of these glasses feel lovely. They're strong, sturdy and very comfortable to wear.
Next I picked this gorgeous pair. These instantly caught my eye with the cute little white bow detail on the side. The lens shape is square and they also have the purple tinted lenses. These has more of a 'wrap around' feel then the other pair. Also like the other pair, they feel good quality and very comfortable to wear. I can definitely notice the difference between the Firmoo glasses and my Primark glasses. I'm usually terrible with my sunglasses - I either sit on them or end up loosing them, so I am hoping I do neither to these and hopefully they will last me ages.
I'm very happy with both pairs of sunglasses I have received and would recommend you checking them out.
Firmoo are also offering a program, for first time buyers, where you can try you first pair of glasses FREE. (All you have to do is pay for the shipping) Click here to claim your free glasses now! :)

Have you tried Firmoo before?

Aussie Hair Care Products

I was on the hunt for a new shampoo and conditioner in Boots the other day and noticed that Aussie were on offer for 3 for £10. The last time I used Aussie was back in high school, which is nearing on 6 years now eek! Anyways, I remembered how much I liked the smell of Aussie products and how nice they made my hair feel, so I decided to purchase them. I bought the Luscious Long Shampoo, Luscious Long Conditioner and the Take The Heat 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment in the hope of having gorgeously long luscious hair ;).

Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo and Conditioner - £4.49 each | The first thing I noticed about these products is the smell. I'm rubbish at describing scents but they smell fresh and clean! Secondly I noticed that the product in side is blue, this impressed me. Simple things hey ;)
These products work amazingly together and leave my hair feeling gorgeous. I have also noticed that they are improving the condition of my hair and dare I say it, helping it grow?

Aussie Take The Heat - 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment - £4.99 | I applied the treatment all over my hair, working from the bottom up as my ends are quite dry and left it on for 3 minutes. When I rinsed it off I noticed how silky my hair felt even though it was wet. I couldn't wait to see what it was like when it was dry but as I rarely blow dry my hair, I had to wait to see what it was like in the morning. When I woke up I was greeted by lovely soft hair which was tangle free. I was amazed at the results and I think, dare I say it, I have found my holy grail hair treatment.

Do you own any Aussie hair products?

MAC | Stay Pretty Blush

Recently I popped into MAC and did a little bit of splurging  My first splurge was on a lipstick called Raspberry Swirl. If you have read the post I've done recently on it, you would know that I was a little unsure whether to keep it or sell it but after uhmming and ahhing I have decided to keep it! :)
Anyways, onto today's post. This is part two of my little splurge which involves the Prolong Wear blush in Stay Pretty. I'm a sucker for pink and coral blushes and this one fits the bill perfectly. It's described as a 'light bright blue pink'. It kind of reminds me of a Barbie type Pink. It is very wearable and I think it will suit any skin tone.
Even though it's a Prolong Wear blush, I don't feel it stays on the cheeks any longer then a regular MAC blush but that doesn't bother me as I love the colour.

Stay Pretty blush costs £19 and you can view it here.

Do you own 'Stay Pretty'?

NOTD | Models Own - Lilac Dream & Diamantes

Wow, the last time I did a 'Nails Of The Day' post was back in September! So I thought it was about time I did one.
I have recently been loving nail art pictures and have been following numerous nail art accounts on Instagram for inspiration. My nails never seem to grow but just lately they have become quite long and strong, so I thought I would try something different. I found these little diamante gems at the bottom of my nail varnish bag along with some nail glue and I experimented and ended up with the above. It's quite a simple but very effective design and I love it.
I really want to buy some more nail art goodies, so watch this space!

I would love to see your nail art! :)

My Top 5 Spring/Summer Nail Varnishes

Barry M - Dragon Fruit | Models Own - Lilac Dream | Barry M - Papaya | Barry M - Pink Flamingo | Essie - Mint Candy Apple

Morning ladies! As you can see, I'm getting well and truly stuck in with the whole 'blogging everyday for the month of May' blog posts and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. I also hope your enjoying reading what I've posted lately?
Anyways, today I want to share with you my top 5 Spring/Summer nail varnishes. I am a big fan of pastel shades and most of my nail varnish collection consist of them. I think they look really nice on the nails and even better when you have a tan.

Barry M - Dragon Fruit, Papaya and Pink Flamingo | All three of these shades are so pretty and shiny, especially the new Gelly Hi-Shines. The Gelly Hi Shines are gorgeous. They leave such a nice finish on the nails and you don't need a top coat with them. Pink Flamingo also looks very shiny on the nails. It's a beautiful coral-pink and so easy to apply.

Models Own - Lilac Dream | I would have to say Models Own nail varnishes are my favourite. I have only picked one out for my top 5 but it would of been easy to make my whole top 5, Models Own. Lilac dream was actually my first nail varnish by them and it will always be a fave. It's such a nice shade and is very creamy. It almost looks good enough to eat.

Essie - Mint Candy Apple | This is my one and only nail varnish by Essie and I have to see I really like it. This is a very popular shade in the blogging world and I can see why. It's a lovely creamy pastel green and looks amazing with a tan.

What are your favourite Spring/Summer nail varnishes?

Inspiration | Bedroom

If you have seen my post here, on my bedroom interior wishlist you would know that I have recently had my bedroom decorated and on the hunt for some new bedroom furniture and accessories.
So today I thought I would share with you some pictures of bedrooms I have found for inspiration.

images from weheartit

I love the white look with a hint of colour. I already have whitish walls and I'm planning on having pink and lime/pastel greens as the features. Just like the last picture.

If you have posted pictures of your bedroom, I would love to see :)
