ELF | Pouty Petal Lipstick

What They Say - "Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft colour naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturising formula. The sleek lipstick has superior colour payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes".

Today I'm reviewing the second lipstick I bought in the ELF half price sale about a month or so ago.
This one is in the shade Pouty Petal. It looks quite dark in the bullet but I would described it as a rosy pink. It has tiny gold glitter particles, which you can't feel on the lips but it gives the lipstick a nice glossy finish as you can see in the picture above. I feel that this lipstick is very wearable and would suit any skin tone. For the price, I can't really complain :).

What I Got For Christmas 2013

Hello my lovely followers! I hope you're all well and had a lovely Christmas? I certainly did :).
I asked on Twitter if you girlies would be interested in seeing a 'what I received for Christmas post' and you said you would. I personally love seeing what everyone got for Christmas and seeing as my post from last year was popular, I decided to do it!
I'm not going to go through every single item I received but I'm going to pick out a few of my main presents.

From Liam, I received my amazing Michael Kors watch which I have wanted for ages. You can read more about that here. He also surprised me with a huge canvas of me and my dog, Fagin, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. The picture was taken on my 18th birthday and it's the same photo which help me win a Links Of London Royal Wedding charm bracelet. So it's quite a sentimental photo and I love it. I'm planning to put it up above my bed.

Liam also bought me a Topshop leather jacket, Ted baker makeup bag and lots of little stocking fillers.

Some of the presents I received from my parents include the Urban Decay Naked palette which I can't wait to use, The Best Of Benefit set, Santa's Grotto from Lush with limited edition Christmas items in and the Soap & Glory Yule Monty gift set. I will also be getting a bag but yet to find one I like the look of.
Oh and of course Christmas wouldn't be complete with out chocolates, pyjamas and fluffy socks which I also received.

I would love to see what you got for Christmas, feel free to leave your links to the posts below.

My Early Christmas Present...

(Sorry for the quality of these photos, I just wanted to get it up before Christmas. I also still have the protective sheet on the face of the watch to keep it protected for as long as possible...until it comes off!)

My boyfriend is like a big kid at Christmas. He gets very excited and just can't wait until Christmas day to give me my presents.
So a couple of weeks ago, he decided to give me one of my main Christmas presents early. I kept telling him that I didn't want to open it and wanted to wait until Christmas Day, but he wasn't having any of it.
He handed me a little black box with Michael Kors embossed on the front. I knew straight away what it was! :)
Inside the box was the amazing Michael Kors 5055 Gold watch. I was super excited and may of shred a tear or two. I have wanted this watch ever since the beginning of the year and I can't believe he surprised me with it. I wear it every single day and can't stop looking at my wrist.

My Christmas Wishlist

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette - £37 | I would love the original Naked Palette. I have the second one, which I bought from a blog sale but I would love the first. Then who knows, I may even treat myself to the 3rd one after Christmas ;).

2. Ghost Perfume 50ml - £28.90 | This was my first ever 'grown up' perfume I had when I was about 16. I love the smell of Ghost and would quite like to add it to my perfume collection.

3. The Little Mermaid DVD - £9 | I'm a huge Disney fan and I'm getting quite a collection of Disney DVDs, but I'm yet to own The Little Mermaid.

4. Lush Santa's Grotto - £18.95 | You can't go wrong with Lush products at Christmas and this one looks lovely filled with their Limited Edition Christmas products.

5. MAC 15 Eyeshadow Palette & Insert - £14 & £6.50 | I have two MAC eye shadows in pan form and would love to be able to finally put them into a palette. I really like the look of the 15 palette with the inserts.

6. Benefit's Whole Lotta Lovin! - £25 | I love the Benefit gift sets at Christmas time. They always have so many I would love to own. This one looks perfect for creating a neutral eye look.

7. Topshop Fur Collar Jacket - £45 | I'm in desperate need for a new leather jacket. I saw this in Topshop last weekend and fell in love with it.

What Emily Wore | Christmas Work Do

I really wasn't sure on what I wanted to wear for my Christmas work do, all I knew was that I wanted something new. So off I went browsing the shops in my local town. Now I don't normally shop in Topshop as I find it quite over priced on some of their items but after this visit, I saw so many gorgeous pieces of clothing I have now got my eyes on.
As I was about to leave, I spotted this gorgeous jumpsuit. I've never owned a jumpsuit before (I like play suits in the Summer though) but decided to try it on. I instantly fell in love with it and bought it. It cost me £48 but I had a voucher which brought it down to £38, bargain!
Jumpsuit - Topshop | Heels - New Look | Necklace & Belt - Primark | Watch - Michael Kors

I bought it in a size 10 and it fits in all the right places. The only thing is that I'm not 'blessed' in the chest department, so it was a little loose, but my good ole mum worked her sewing magic and took the straps up a little bit for me which made it even better.
It's made out of 100% cotton and has a lovely silky feel to it. It's navy with gorgeous black detailed flowers all over. The waist is elasticated which was great for me, after eating a 3 course meal and drinking a few Disaronno and coke's, I needed that extra room ;).
I paired it with my gold sparkly heeled shoes from New Look, which I actually bought last year and had never worn, my amazing Michael Kors watch which was an early Christmas present from the amazing boyfriend and the sparkly belt and necklace are from Primark. I also curled my hair using the Enrapture Totem Styler.
I wish I got a close up of my makeup, but I totally forgot. I was lucky to get these pictures as just before I was about to leave my mum said "Have you taken a picture for your blog!";).

You can purchase the Floral Jaquard Strap Jumpsuit here for £48. It's currently got £10 off, making it £38 bargain!

ELF | Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks

Today I've got a quick review of three of the ELF Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks. I think eyeshadow sticks are great for when you want a base colour on your lids, or to help your eyeshadows last that little bit longer. From left to right - French Lace, Little Miss Thing, Turkish Coffee. I chose quite neutral colours as I tend to stick to natural shades on the lid.
There are 10 shades to choose from.
What They Say - "This creamy and pigment rich Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick is perfect for creating a natural or smoky eyeshadow look. Infused with nourishing Vitamin E to condition the delicate eye area. The twist up component and smooth glide formula is easy to use for on-the-go beauty".
All three of these sticks are very pigmented and very creamy. They apply smoothly on the lid like they claim and have good staying power when another eyeshadow is applied on top. But when used alone they crease so bad.
They twist up at the bottom which I really like. I get really annoyed with the jumbo pencils you have to sharpen.
For the price I can't really complain and I use them quite often :).

ELF Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks retail at £2.50 each.

French Connection | Charis Crochet Dress*

Today's post is fashion related. I don't post many outfit posts but I'm hoping to change that.
I was lucky enough to be sent this gorgeous Charis Crochet Dress* from French Connection. I actually received this dress back in the Summer but have only just got round to blogging about it. It has been designed with Summer in mind but I actually really like how it looks paired with jeans for the colder months.
What They Say - "French Connection cotton dress is a superfine knit for summer. The relaxed shape will work well against stacked platform wedges. Charis Crochet Dress has a scoop neck, rolled sleeves, crochet pattern at the front and a rope tie-waist belt".
The lovely Charis Crochet Dress* is made out of cotton and it's so soft. It's light weight and feels very comfortable to wear. It has a cream cami top sewed in so it isn't see through which I really like. It also has  rolled sleeves, a crochet pattern on the front and a rope tie-waist belt. I've taken the waist belt off as I wasn't too keen on it. I'm really liking the rolled sleeves trend at the moment and think they look really cute on the dress.
I've rolled up the bottom of the dress and slightly tucked it into my jeans, to give it the baggy/slouchy look. I'm really impressed with this dress and can see myself wearing it a lot in the Winter.

The Charis Crochet Dress* can be purchased for £97 but it's currently in the sale for £29.50.

*Update - I have just checked and sadly this dress is currently sold out online.*

Urban Decay | All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

What They Say | "Is makeup meltdown ruining your midnight mojo? Mist on this weightless spray to give your makeup serious staying power. All Nighter keeps your makeup looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 16 hours - without melting, cracking, fading or settling into fine lines. Developed in an exclusive partnership with SKINDIN VIA, our groundbreaking, clinically tested formula is suitable for all skin types and features patented Temperature Control Technology. Yep, this baby actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place ¦ even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or all night). The spray delivers a microfine mist that goes on so light, you'll hardly feel it - and once you've applied it, you won't even know it's there."
What I Say | I am always on the hunt for that one product that will help my makeup last longer and keep it looking fresh throughout the day/night. I've tried a few makeup sprays - these include MAC Fix+ and the MUA Pro-Base Fixing Spray, which have both been lovely products but I still felt there could be a better product out there, and I think I have found it!
After reading about this product on a few blogs, seeing it on YouTube and hearing nothing but great things about it, I decided to purchase it. I'm talking about Urban Decays All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray.
I was really excited to try it out, so for it's first test I tried it when I went out for drinks in the evening. I thought this was the perfect time to try it, as inside the pubs and clubs it can get very hot and stuffy. I applied my makeup like normal and then spritzed this over my face. I used the 'X' and 'T' formation they suggest on the packaging. The spray is ultra fine and felt very light on my skin. At first it feels a little bit tacky but as soon as it dries, the stickiness has gone.
When I returned home a good 5 hours or so later, my makeup looked the same as when I had left. (The only thing was that my mascara had flaked under my eyes but I have later discovered that it was the mascara I was using).
My next test was to use this product during the day to see how well it would cope. I did the same thing, applied my makeup like normal and spritzed it the same way but this time I was out for around 8 hours. At the end of the day, my makeup was still looking fresh. I am very impressed with this product, it's like a miracle in a bottle!
I don't use this spray everyday but definitely for those days or nights where I feel I need my makeup to stay put!
I would also just like to add, I feel that the staying power of all products of this kind depend on what type/brand/amount of makeup you are wearing and the type of skin you may have. But I would definitely suggest you try it out for yourself, if you feel you need your makeup to last that little bit longer!

ELF | Runway Pink Lipstick

This is my first review from my huge collection of ELF goodies I purchased when they had their 50% sale. (If you're interested in what else I purchased, you can click here).
So to start off I'm going to review one of their Mineral lipsticks. They had about 18 different shades to choose from, so it was a bit overwhelming on which shade I was going to choose. I googled for some swatches to try and get a true colour and in the end I chose two different shades. (The second lipstick review to follow soon). The first one I picked is in the shade Runway Pink.
I would described Runway Pink as a nude pink. It's a shade which I would say is 'your lip colour but better' if that makes any sense?
The texture of the lipstick feels very smooth during application but I have found they are quite drying and only last on the lips for about an hour at the most. I don't mind this too much, as it's a reasonably cheap lipstick where you can afford to re-apply but I'm not too keen on the dryness. I make sure I apply a creamy lip balm before application to help moisturise my lips. I personally think it's a colour that would suit any skin tone.
All in all I think this is a great lipstick if you're just starting out in makeup or just want a lip product where you can throw it in your handbag and not worry about using a mirror for the application of it.

ELF Mineral lipsticks retail at £5 each.

Review | Origins Modern Friction

What They Say | "Sand-blasting skin with coarse, chemical crystals? How painfully passe. Here's age-smoothing exfoliation without irritation. Skin-refining Rice Starch cushioned in cream, rapidly removes sluggish cells, uneven patches and signs of skin damage and discolourations. Lemon Oil kick starts the process of illumination. Vitamin C mops up skin-menacing free radicals.
There's no ouch, extra steps or other complications. No redness or flaking follows. Signs of lines and size of pores appear to shrink. With Origins Modern Friction™, skin looks perfectly polished, smooth and luminous."

What I Say | This is a sample size product I received with a previous order. It's a 15ml tube, which is the perfect size to try before you buy. I'm always a bit wary trying new skin products so these little samples are perfect for me!
I squeeze a small amount onto my fingers and gently massage it all over my face. I then rinse it off with warm water and I'm left with lovely smooth, clean feeling skin. You can apply this to dry skin but I prefer dampening my face first as I feel it applies better.
Modern Friction is a microdermabrasion exfoliator that's very thick and creamy in texture. It contains rice starch to refine the skin and lemon oil to brightenIt contains tiny beads for exfoliating and gives just enough scrub without being too harsh on the skin but at the same time it definitely feels like it's working at getting rid of all the dirt and grime. I use this once, sometimes twice a week and I have noticed a difference in my skin. It is quite pricey but as you only need a small amount at one time, I think you can justify it.
I would say this product is suitable for all skin types as it's quite gentle and isn't drying.
If you're a blonde like me, be very careful when using it around your eye area. I know it says it on the majority of face products but this product burns like crazy if you get it near or around your eyes! Don't say I didn't warn you ;).
Oh and this is also one of Origins best sellers!
Price | £33 125ml

Rating | 8/10

I bought the last Glamour box they released back in June and was very impressed, so I can't wait to see if this one beats it.
What's in this issues box?

October Favourites

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray | This product has been on my wishlist for a while now and I'm so glad I finally bought it (hence why it has made its way into my faves). I don't use this product everyday, only on the days where I know I'm going to have a long day and want my makeup to last. I also use it on nights out and I have certainly noticed a difference. My makeup definitely lasts and still looks as good as when I left the house. Full review to come soon.

Garnier Moisture Match Day Cream | This lil beauty is for dry to very dry skin and has made it's way into my new skincare routine. Already it has worked wonders on my skin, leaving it feeling very moisturised and plumped. It's perfect for this time of year where your skin needs that extra something to keep it looking fresh in this cold weather. I have posted my full review on it here along with other products in the Garnier range.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette | I recently bought this palette off a blog sale. It had hardly been touched and was such a bargain! I have used it everyday since and the colours are gorgeous. The only thing is now I also want the original Naked palette and the Naked 3 palette to add to my collection.

Taylor Swift Wonderstuck Perfume | I've never tried Taylor Swifts perfumes before but on my recent shopping trip, I picked it up as it was on offer. It smells very fruity with a hint of vanilla, my kind of perfume!.

MAC Plumful Lipstick | I have been wearing this lipstick non stop since I got it using the 'back to mac' program. It's such a lovely plummy colour and looks really nice on the lips. If you would like to find out more about this lipstick or the 'back to mac' program click here.

MAC Peachtwist Blush | I have recently rediscovered this blush in my makeup drawers. It's such a nice shade for this time of year. It's described as bronzy peach which I would definitely agree with. Peachtwist is a shade I don't hear much about in the blogging world which is a shame as I think it's such a lovely shade and would look lovely on any skin tone.
